From Modest Beginnings to Leading a Global Award-Winning Language Solutions Company
As the founder and CEO of LingvoHouse Translation & Localisation, my journey into entrepreneurship started without the usual advantages: no venture capital, no partners, and no safety net. At just 23 years old, I launched not one, but three businesses simultaneously, including LingvoHouse. All I had was a vision, an unshakable work ethic, and a determination to create something bigger than myself. What began as a small, bootstrapped venture has now evolved into a globally recognized company that won the Small Business Awards for excellence in serving clients in over 500 languages and securing national-scale contracts within the UK’s public sector.
A Self-Made Journey: From Russia to London
I grew up in a modest household in post-Soviet Russia. Watching my father—an orphan with no resources—build his own business against all odds, I learned early on the importance of resilience and entrepreneurship. After spending my childhood working odd jobs to support my family, my life changed when I had the chance to come to London at 14 to study English. It was here, working my first jobs in the UK, that I caught a glimpse of the possibilities the world had to offer.
By 18, my father’s financial support ended, pushing me to stand on my own. With no safety net, I began working in corporate law, focusing on cross-border M&A projects. It was through this legal work that I spotted an untapped business opportunity in the language services industry. I saw how essential translation was in facilitating global deals and noticed a gap for agile, tech-driven solutions. This insight led me to create LingvoHouse.
Building LingvoHouse: A Global Vision
Starting with no external funding and learning everything on the job, I grew LingvoHouse into a company recognized for quality, speed, and exceptional client care. By 2014, we expanded to trade globally, and in 2019, we became a fully digital and remote operation. In just a few years, LingvoHouse tripled in size, winning key industry accreditations and being named one of the top 250 language service providers worldwide for three consecutive years.
Our success wasn’t built on luck; it came from identifying the needs of global businesses and providing innovative, custom-built solutions. From LangTech and automation to offering culturally adapted, tech-driven translations, LingvoHouse continues to stay ahead of industry trends, helping brands break into new markets.
Balancing Business, Adventure, and Motherhood
I’m not just an entrepreneur. I’m also a solo parent to two ambitious kids, who, at just 9 and 7, have already launched their own startup! Balancing the demands of running a global business and raising my children fuels my drive every day. I’m also deeply passionate about adventure travel, skiing, and padel tennis—pursuits that challenge me just like business does. My adventures have taken me from trekking the Torres Del Paine glaciers to jungle zip-lining in Laos, all while speaking the five languages I’ve picked up along the way.
Empowering the Next Generation
As I look toward the future, I’m not just focused on the AI-powered revolution within the language services sector. I’m committed to giving back by mentoring & coaching young entrepreneurs and seeking opportunities to serve as a non-executive director for startups. I’m driven by the belief that with the right mindset and relentless determination, anyone can build something extraordinary—just as I did.
I’m always open to connecting with like-minded professionals, the media, or anyone interested in discussing growth, entrepreneurship, or global expansion.
