What LingvoHouse Delivers for Children’s Services Translation
Care proceedings generate a specific and demanding category of legal documents. The translation requirement is not confined to a single document type — it typically spans social work records, medical reports, psychological assessments, court orders, witness statements, family histories, and correspondence from overseas authorities. Each document type carries its own terminology and register requirements. LingvoHouse handles the full document set under an ISO 17100-certified workflow, with translators selected for subject-matter experience in child protection, family law, and social care.
Specific capabilities include:
- Certified translation of care proceedings bundles — social work records, care plans, contact schedules, court orders, and supporting evidence — with certification accepted by the Family Court
- Urgent and overnight turnaround for emergency protection order hearings, interim care order applications, and fact-finding hearings where documents arrive at short notice
- Eastern European language translation including Romanian, Polish, Lithuanian, Latvian, Bulgarian, and Slovak — the language pairs most frequently required in local authority care cases
- South Asian language translation including Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, and Pashto — for families where the primary language is not covered by most translation agencies
- Rare and minority language translation including Tigrinya, Amharic, Somali, Oromo, Tetum, and other languages encountered in care proceedings involving families from East Africa, the Horn of Africa, and South-East Asia
- Arabic and Farsi translation for care proceedings involving families from the Middle East and Iran
- Rare languages & dialects such as: Tigrinya, Amharic, Somali, Oromo, Tetum, Pashto, Twi, Dari, Filipino, Yoruba, Igbo, Wolof, Dinka, Shona, Sorani, Krio, Lingala, Nuer.
- Translation of overseas documents — birth certificates, marriage certificates, court orders, and child protection records from foreign jurisdictions — with certified output accepted by UK courts
- Secure file handling under ISO 27001-certified systems, with NDAs available on request for matters where the sensitivity of the content requires a formal confidentiality agreement before documents are shared
- Dedicated project manager assigned to each instruction — a single point of contact from receipt of documents to final delivery, with the authority to confirm turnaround, scope, and certification format without the matter being escalated
For care proceedings involving Eastern European families, see the Eastern European Language Translation for Local Authority Care Cases page. For South Asian language requirements, see the South Asian Language Translation for Children’s Services page.

I was so impressed at the quick turnaround and the quality of the output. Not only was the text I provided translated into Bengali and Spanish but the formatting of the PowerPoint I shared was exactly as the English version, so I didn't have to tidy it up at all. I am really pleased with the service provided by LingvoHouse.
How We Work
Brief Us
1. Submit the documents and deadline. Send the documents to LingvoHouse via lingvohouse.com with the hearing date or required delivery time. For urgent instructions, include the language, approximate page count, and any specific certification requirements in the initial message.
2. Assessment and confirmation. LingvoHouse assesses the document set on receipt — language, word count, document type, and format — and returns a confirmed quote covering cost, turnaround, and certification format. For genuinely urgent instructions this assessment is completed quickly. There is no obligation to proceed until the scope is agreed.
Translation & Review
3. Translator assignment. A translator with experience in child protection, family law, and the relevant language pair is assigned to the instruction. For rare and minority languages, LingvoHouse draws on a specialist network of qualified linguists with coverage of languages most agencies cannot accommodate such as Twi & Mandinka.
4. Translation and review. All work is carried out under LingvoHouse’s ISO 17100-certified workflow — translation by a qualified linguist followed by independent review by a second. Terminology consistency across the full document set is maintained by the project manager throughout.
Certification & Delivery
5. Certification. Certified translation is provided as standard for court bundle translation services — a signed statement of accuracy from the translator, with their full name, qualifications, and contact details, attached to each translated document. Hard copy certification is available where the Family Court requires a physical original.
6. Delivery. Documents are returned by secure email in the agreed format, within the confirmed turnaround time. The project manager remains available for scope queries or additional documents added to the instruction after the initial quote.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will certified translations from LingvoHouse be accepted by the Family Court?
Yes. Certified translations from LingvoHouse include a signed statement of accuracy from the translator, with their full name, qualifications, and contact details. This format meets the standard required by the Family Court and is consistent with the guidance issued by HM Courts and Tribunals Service for translated documents submitted in care proceedings. If the presiding judge or the other parties have a specific format requirement, the project manager will confirm compatibility before the translation is finalised.
Can LingvoHouse translate documents in languages that most agencies cannot cover?
Yes. LingvoHouse handles a wide range of rare and minority languages encountered in care proceedings — including Tigrinya, Amharic, Somali, Oromo, Tetum, Pashto, Twi, Dari, Filipino, Yoruba, Igbo, Wolof, Dinka, Shona, Sorani, Krio, Lingala, Nuer and others — through a specialist linguist network built specifically for this category of work. For any language not immediately recognisable, contact LingvoHouse with the document and the language will be confirmed or an equivalent qualified linguist identified before the instruction proceeds.
How quickly can a care proceedings bundle be translated?
Turnaround depends on the word count, language, and document format. A single witness statement or medical report in a single language is typically deliverable the next working day; same-day delivery is possible for shorter documents received early in the morning. Full care proceedings bundles running to substantial page counts are confirmed on receipt with a realistic delivery time — LingvoHouse does not commit to a turnaround before the documents have been assessed. Urgent and overnight instructions are accommodated where the volume and language allow.
How are documents handled confidentially?
All documents are handled under LingvoHouse’s ISO 27001-certified information security management system. Documents are not stored beyond the project, are not shared outside the translation team, and are not used for any purpose other than the specific instruction. NDAs are available on request and are issued before documents are shared where the matter sensitivity requires it. LingvoHouse does not use third-party file-sharing platforms outside its certified systems.
Can LingvoHouse work under Legal Aid rates for care proceedings?
Yes. LingvoHouse accepts Legal Aid instructions for written translation in care proceedings. The Legal Aid Agency rate for written translation is £0.10 per word plus VAT. Confirm Legal Aid status at the time of instruction so the project manager can note it on the file before the quote is issued. for more information, please refer to the Legal Translation Pricing & Rate Guide for UK Law Firms page.

Reviews
I was recommended LingvoHouse by a colleague, and I am thrilled to say that choosing them was an excellent decision. LingvoHouse delivered an outstanding service from start to finish. Their team not only provided precise translations but also ensured that every technical term was thoroughly verified and appropriately localised for each target language.
Moreover, the project required full DTP (Desktop Publishing), and LingvoHouse produced beautifully designed translations, maintaining consistency and format across all languages, which was critical for the professional presentation of the manual.
Communication with LingvoHouse was seamless and efficient. They kept me informed throughout the process and were always responsive to any queries or concerns. Their professionalism and dedication made the entire experience smooth and hassle-free.
I am one happy customer!
They demonstrated a deep understanding of what brand's voice is and asked me questions to make sure their ideas were matching mine. Keyword research ensured that my content was not only accurately translated but also optimized for search engines in each target market, which initially was a pain for us and we were desperate to solve it. I just needed to boost our visibility and engagement across diverse regions, and this is exactly what they helped us to do.
We had a couple of catch up calls which gave me confidence as well as peace of mind.
Happy to recommend to anyone who requires professionalism, attention to detail, and prepared to be commited to deliver quality.
Super happy!
I couldn't recommend them more - special shout out to Federica and Charline - thanks so much!
